Baked Hemp Oat Bars From The ALK

The ALK (Animal Liberation Kitchen) is one of our favourite restaurants in Toronto, and our go-to for delicious vegan take-out. We were thrilled when they sent us over this simple baked oatmeal recipe using our Hemp Cacao Protein Powder.

Baked oatmeal is high in fibre and protein. It’s good for you and it tastes so delicious. We love using this Together Hemp Cacao Protein Powder to add extra protein to our diet and to add prebiotics for our gut health.

Ingredients:

2 cups rolled oats

1 teaspoon baking powder

¼ teaspoon salt

2 Tbs Hemp protein powder

2 ripe bananas

1 ½ cups non dairy milk or coconut kefir
¼ cup smooth peanut butter

1 tablespoon maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preheat the oven to 375° F.

Start by mashing  bananas. Then add the wet ingredients on top,  peanut butter, maple syrup, along with non dairy milk. We used coconut kefir, instead of non dairy milk, for added probiotics . Mix it all together until well combined.

Put the dry ingredients including the oats, baking powder, Together Hemp Cacao Protein Powder and salt, into a baking dish and whisk them together with a fork. Pour the wet ingredients on top of the oat mixture and stir to combine.

Bake uncovered in the preheated oven until the top of the oatmeal is golden and the mixture is set, about 30-35 minutes. Remove and allow it to cool for 5 minutes.

Serve with drizzled peanut butter and Chopped Walnut On top.

It can be stored cooled down in the fridge for up to 5 days.
